Jersey Fresh blueberries are ripe and ready

New Jersey had a great winter and spring to give our blueberry growers the perfect conditions needed to harvest a full crop of the bigger, better, more flavorful berries your customers crave.

Jersey Fresh blueberries will be ready for your shelves from early June into early August, and your customers look for blueberries from the Garden State all year long because they know Jersey Fresh blueberries will provide the flavor and size they desire.

Jersey Fresh blueberries provide excellent marketing opportunities for retailers to take advantage of during our harvest season. This is especially true in the New Jersey, Philadelphia, New York and Greater New England metropolitan areas, where Jersey Fresh blueberries are the superior local option that customers demand. Our third-party market research in these regions shows that nearly three-quarters of consumers surveyed have told us that Jersey Fresh blueberries are superior to berries from elsewhere. 

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture always points consumers to retailers that source Jersey Fresh blueberries, and these efforts will continue to be enhanced by our partnerships with the New Jersey Blueberry Growers Association. We will begin running digital billboards with rotating messages throughout the entire blueberry harvesting season. Additionally, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture’s Jersey Fresh team will have radio spots featuring Jersey Fresh blueberries during the height of the harvest season. People from all over the East Coast love to visit the world-famous Jersey Shore. Those crowds will be returning and as your customers lounge on our beaches, they will see Jersey Blues and Jersey Fresh airplane banners flying the shoreline from Sandy Hook in the north to the southern tip in Cape May. And for the fourth consecutive year, we are hosting a sampling campaign of blueberries on three Jersey Shore boardwalks in Atlantic City, Seaside Heights, and Wildwood. It’s been highly successful, and we will be handing out pints of Jersey Fresh branded blueberries on July 8 to celebrate National Blueberry Day.

All of our messaging will remind consumers about the benefits of Jersey Fresh blueberries, and we’ll continue to emphasize that our blueberries are the most authentic choice for local.
