EPC hosts third annual Joe DeLorenzo Family Day

IMG 0032OLDWICK, NJ – The Eastern Produce Council held its third-annual Joe DeLorenzo Family Day and Apple Picking event Sept. 30 at Melick’s Family Farm, here. The event is named for Joe DeLorenzo, a longtime board member and two-time president of the council, who died in November 2014.

“Joe always said it was about ‘Mi Familia’ and he always put family first,” said EPC President Vic Savanello of Allegiance Retail Services. “We’re happy to hold this event as a way to honor his dedication to the EPC.”

Susan McAleavey Sarlund, executive director of the EPC, said the council was delighted to have more than 80 people at the event, treating them to apple picking, fresh cider and donuts, hot dogs, popcorn and roasted corn on the cob. “This is a great way to remember Joe and bring together the EPC members and their families for some quality time,” said Sarlund.
