Mexican grape industry gathers in Tubac
TUBAC, AZ — The Mexican table grape industry gathered here on March 21 to hear the estimate numbers for export production in 2019. The meeting kicked off on the sun-filled lawn of the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa. After the meeting, the group sat beneath Arizona’s star-studded black desert sky for a steak dinner.
AALPUM Chairman Marco Molina Sr. said 22 million cartons of grapes are expected to be shipped to the United States and Canada this year. Beyond the 22 million boxes expected to go to North American neighbors, about 5 million boxes of Mexican table grapes will be sold domestically. Lesser volumes are exported offshore.
