National Mango Board splashes into summer with sizzling recipes … and more

The National Mango Board is ready to splash into summer with celebrations planned for National Mango Month, National Mango Day and exciting ways to include mango in summer activities.

Although mangos are available year-round, the summer months offer a chance for this super-versatile superfruit to shine.

The latest NMB Crop Report indicates over 4.4 million boxes were shipped to the United States during the week ending April 22. Current predictions are that mango volume shipped from April 29 to June 17 will be about 16 percent higher year-over-year.

With increased availability during peak supply periods, the National Mango Board plans to continue its Party With Mango digital marketing campaign, celebrating National Mango Month in June and National Mango Day on July 22.

The board is renewing its social media partnership with Tajín throughout the summer, in which mango recipes perfectly paired with Tajín seasonings or sauces will be shared across the NMB and Tajín social channels.

Including mangos in summer plans becomes easier with the ability to shop recipes on the National Mango Board website via Chicory. This integration is being rolled out to gradually include all recipes on the website. Consumers simply click the “Get Ingredients” button on a recipe page, enter the desired and select your preferred retailer. All ingredients from the recipe will be added to the shopper’s cart and ready for to prepare at home for sizzling summer celebrations.

The NMB will also be focused on reminding consumers and retailers that mangos are a great addition to Memorial Day, July 4, and any backyard barbecue grilling event. There are several grilling recipes on the NMB website that involve both grilled mangos and ways to include mangos in grilled protein dishes.
