Trucco launches TruStar Italian Roasted Hazelnuts
A.J. Trucco, one of the largest importers of fresh produce, dried fruits and nuts from around the world, continues to be a force in the Bronx at the Hunts Point Produce Market.
The company offers a diverse range of produce, including kiwifruit, blueberries, limes, cherries, mandarins, lemons, pineapples, persimmons, fresh and peeled garlic, ginger and Italian chestnuts.
With the holidays here, the company is looking forward to a strong end of year as it heads into 2025.
“For us, the holiday season is all about fresh Italian chestnuts,” said Yasmin Pacia, chief marketing officer for the company, who added that fresh chestnuts in particular are one of its standout items. “They are a seasonal favorite and part of our heritage. It’s a tradition we’re incredibly proud of, and we are one of the largest importers of Italian chestnuts in the United States. For 2025, we’re expecting continued growth in all our commodities.”
One of the most exciting things this holiday season is the launch of Trucco’s TruStar Italian Roasted Hazelnuts.
“Hazelnuts are a great snack — nutritious, packed with protein, fiber and heart-healthy fats,” Pacia said. “We’re really excited to share this new product with our customers.”
The holidays bring a special energy to all those at Trucco.
“We’re like one big family, and this season is about celebrating together,” Pacia said. “Our annual Christmas get-together is always a highlight. The office feels festive with decorations and the large tree we all put up. It’s a fun time that truly brings us closer.”
Looking back on 2024, Pacia noted that the company had a “big year.”
“We completed another expansion of our state-of-the-art distribution center in Vineland, NJ, which now has nearly 200,000 square feet of warehouse space, including over 6,200 refrigerated pallets positions,” Pacia said. “We also launched TruFresh Logistics, our new sister company, to handle third-party logistics. These milestones reflect our commitment to growth and innovation.”
Since opening at the terminal in 1967, those at Trucco have always known what it takes to be successful.
“It all comes down to our dedication: quality, exceptional service and building strong relationships with our partners,” Pacia said. “These values keep us moving forward.”
Maintaining those relationships starts by offering quality at every step.
“We ensure a reliable year-round supply backed by fast and efficient logistics,” Pacia said. “Beyond that, it’s about being honest, providing excellent service, and showing loyalty. Those qualities have earned us the trust and satisfaction of our customers.”
Naturally, issues pop up here and there, season after season, but the experienced team at Trucco overcome any challenges with dedication and perseverance.
As it looks ahead to 2025, the company expects more big things in the coming year.
“We are always looking to grow our current portfolio of offerings,” Pacia said. “We look forward to another successful year.”
