Winter citrus varieties are available for seasonal promotions
California’s citrus season is in full swing, and Bee Sweet Citrus has a robust lineup of seasonal varieties available for winter promotions.
“The winter season is an excellent time to market the citrus category because most shoppers are either prepping their households for holiday gatherings or dealing with the effects of cold and flu season,” said Bee Sweet Citrus Director of Communications Monique Mueller.
“Regardless of the reason, Bee Sweet Citrus has a wide selection of varieties that complement holiday meals and provide shoppers with an added boost of vitamin C,” she said.
Since the start of the season, Bee Sweet Citrus has added mandarins, lemons, Navel oranges, Cara Cara oranges, Royal Red oranges, Meyer lemons, Pummelos, grapefruit and Golden Gem grapefruit to its winter portfolio. Each variety is uniquely flavorful and is perfect for anyone looking to incorporate immunity-boosting citrus into their diet.
“California’s unique soil and climate is ideal for growing citrus because it helps to produce fruit with the perfect sugar-to-acid ratio,” said Bee Sweet Citrus Director of Farm Operations Matt Watkins. “The recent cold weather that we’ve had has also allowed us to store the fruit on the tree longer — naturally bringing out the fruit’s color and flavor.”
Over the next few weeks, Bee Sweet’s customers can also expect to see Heirloom Navels and Minneola Tangelos as part of its variety lineup. All the company’s winter varieties meet strict safety and quality standards and are available in bag and bulk items.
