Wild About Sprouts collaborates with Susan G. Komen during breast cancer awareness month
This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Wild About Sprouts is partnering with Susan G. Komen to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Susan G. Komen,” said Stephanie Browder, vice president of marketing at Rä Foods. “Their dedication to fighting breast cancer resonates deeply with Rä Foods commitment to health and longevity. Our co-founders, Dr. Jeff Sholl and Dr. Sue Harlander, started this journey with research into cancer-fighting food compounds. We aim to introduce more people to the range of powerful health benefits of sprouts while contributing to a cause that’s making a real impact in the fight against cancer.”
Throughout this promotional period, Wild About Sprouts is offering its 100 percent Broccoli and Alfalfa, Broccoli and Kale blend products in special Susan G. Komen pink packaging. For every package sold, $0.10 will be donated to ending breast cancer up to a total of $10,000.
Wild About Sprouts distinguishes itself with a unique growing process. Cultivated at a consistent 40 degrees Fahrenheit, their sprouts growing process eliminates pathogens that can occur with all other growing methods utilizing large drums at a higher temperature. Furthermore, once the seeds are planted in their individual containers, they are not touched again until they reach the end consumer. Since its launch in 2016, Wild About Sprouts has maintained a record of no product recalls or outbreaks, making its sprouts the safest available.
“At Wild About Sprouts, safety is our top priority,” said Barry Didato, president of Rä Foods. “Our unique growing process ensures that our sprouts are the safest on the market, giving consumers peace of mind. In addition, because our products are grown in each container, they are a better tasting, more powerful nutrient-rich superfood that supports overall well-being. Laboratory research suggests that the sulforaphane found in broccoli sprouts may help protect against certain types of cancer. In fact, broccoli sprouts can contain up to 100 times more sulforaphane than mature broccoli heads.”
Often overlooked, broccoli sprouts are a hidden gem in the world of nutrition. These petite greens are bursting with sulforaphane – a powerful phytochemical know for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and potential anticancer properties. Their nutritional value makes them an important addition to any diet.
According to laboratory research, their key benefits include:
- Cancer Fighting Properties There is an abundance of laboratory research that sulforaphane may help reduce the risk of certain cancers by supporting the body’s natural defense mechanisms. Regular consumption of broccoli sprouts can offer a natural way to promote overall cellular health.
- Supports Detoxification: Sulforaphane activates liver enzymes that assist in detoxifying the body, potentially lowering the risk of chronic diseases and improving overall well-being.
- Easy to Incorporate: Broccoli sprouts are versatile and can be added to a variety of dishes, such as salads, sandwiches, smoothies and stir-fries, making them an easy and convenient way to boost nutrition.
- Gut Health: Broccoli sprouts contain prebiotic fibers that support gut health by nourishing beneficial bacteria, which can enhance digestion, strengthen the immune system, and improve mental health.
- High Sulforaphane Content: Broccoli sprouts are abundant in sulforaphane, a compound known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. Sulforaphane aids in detoxifying the body, shielding against harmful toxins and supporting cellular health through antioxidant pathways.
- Nutrient Density: Even though they are small, broccoli sprouts are packed with essential nutrients like vitamins A, C and K, and minerals such as calcium, iron and potassium, which support overall health, including bone strength and immune function.
During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Wild About Sprouts aims to spotlight the health benefits of broccoli sprouts for overall well-being, while also supporting those in need of treatment through its donation.
Note: Susan G. Komen relies on clinical studies to support claims related to breast cancer. The findings on sulforaphane were derived from laboratory studies.
