Nominations open for SEPC Next Generation Award
The Southeast Produce Council is currently accepting nominations for its Next Generation Award. The deadline to submit nominations is 5 p.m. Eastern time Friday, July 16.
Nominations will only be accepted for SEPC members 39 years or younger who have been employed in the produce industry for at least four years and have made a significant contribution to the industry.
To qualify for this award, members must also be in "good standing" with the SEPC through regular attendance and contributions to the council. SPEC member companies who are in "good standing" may nominate an employee who is not currently on the active SEPC membership role.
Also, neither SEPC employees or contractors or their immediate family are eligible for this award. The term "immediate family" includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether as "in-laws" or by current or past marriage(s), adoption, cohabitation or other family extension, and other persons residing at the same household, whether or not related.
Previous honorees of the Next Generation Award, which is co-sponsored by The Produce News, are Adam Lytch of L&M Cos. Inc. in 2017, Ross Williams of Titan Farms in 2018, Andrew Hare of Vertical Roots in 2019 and Kristin Yerecic Scott of Yerecic Label in 2020.
The 2021 recipient will be honored at the 2021 SEPC Southern Innovations, scheduled to take place Sept. 9-11 in Savannah, GA.
