Nogales veteran George Duron dies of COVID-19

George (Hunter) Duron, a longtime Nogales produce industry died of a COVID-19 infection on Jan. 30.  He was 53 years old.

Most recently he had worked for GreenPoint.  He was long associated with Apache Produce, following RB Packing. He was in sales for Daily Fresh before joining GreenPoint.

Duron was born on Nogales, AZ on June 09, 1967.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jose Luis Duron and Maria Estela Duron, according to echovita.com. He is survived by his wife Adriana Duron; his children, Kevin Duron and Stephanie Magana (Esjar Magana); his mother-in-law Maria Romero; and his siblings, Marcos Duron, Oscar Duron, Jessie Duron, Connie Valencia, Estela Duron and Trinidad Duron.

A celebration of his life was held in Nogales on Feb. 3.
