Lytone, JH Biotech team up for greener fresh produce supply chain

Around 32 percent of the energy used in the whole food supply chain is for distribution and processing, according to a report released by the Environmental Protection Agency in October 2023. Distribution and processing is also the stage that most post-harvest loss happens — as much as 30 percent in America, according to recent statistics.

With this in mind, Lytone Enterprise, a leading global innovator, has developed a comprehensive solution, LytoFresh, that could reduce post-harvest loss with the lowest environmental impact. In order to extend the benefit of this technology system, the company recently teamed up with JH Biotech to provide complementary solutions to the postharvest problems.

JH Biotech, with its headquarters in Ventura, CA, has more than 30 years of experience in supplying proprietary products for plant health, pest management and animal well-being on a global basis. Both companies will work on Lytone’s LytoFresh system in the U.S., targeting customers in the supply chain of fruits and vegetables.

“LytoFresh system has been the best option for postharvest preservation of fruits such as apples, mangos, tomatoes, kiwi, avocado and flowers, including roses, lily, carnation and orchids," said William Chang, chairman of Lytone Enterprise. "Its satisfied customers include exporter in Taiwan, China, South Korea, Turkiye, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil and more. We have worked with many global partners and now, we are pleased to have JH Biotech as our latest partner for the U.S. market.”

“JH Biotech has a history includes pioneering agricultural research, environmental conservation, creates positive changes toward a greener growing system wherever we go. Our efficient customer support system to supply formulated products to our customers is our hall mark. Lytone’s post-harvest technology will certainly bring exciting new opportunities in this collaboration,” said John Hsu, president of JH Biotech.

Just in the early December, Lytone demonstrated its holistic quality solution, LytoFresh system, at NW Hort Expo in Kennewich, WA. Individual products in the system with brand names of AnsiP, KaDoZan, Natacoat, Chitamin, Azolyte and LytoGreen were introduced as a complete set of problem-solving tools for fresh produce business.
