Big Y seeking suppliers for local products
Big Y’s Local Vendor Discovery Tour is now under way for its upcoming supermarket in Westborough, MA, and the retailer is seeking farmers, vendors and artisans. This online initiative gives Big Y’s sales teams the opportunity to explore and connect with local offerings that could be featured in-store.
Big Y carries local products from the communities and regions where its stores are located. It partners with over 500 local businesses with over 4,000 individual local products. These items can be found across every department in its stores. Products include fruits and vegetables, soda, artisan bread, chocolate, soap, coffee, honey, meat, baked goods and maple syrup.
Big Y’s sales team supports its partners with distribution and delivery of local products, helping expand their reach and thrive in a competitive marketplace.
“Our commitment to local goes beyond just sourcing — it’s about celebrating the unique flavors and talents across the region,” said Mike Cormier, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “These partnerships help us deliver exceptional quality while investing in the spirit that drives our communities forward.”
Buying locally helps keep small businesses healthy and reduces environmental impact by minimizing transportation and packaging. It also strengthens the connection between people and the places they live.
While the current focus is on sourcing products for the Westborough, MA store, Big Y is always seeking new vendors from all its store regions. Interested businesses can learn more and apply at https://www.bigy.com/localpartners.
