Potandon Produce to feature innovative line of products at IFPA Global

For nearly 30 years, Potandon Produce has been the exclusive supplier of Green Giant Fresh potatoes and onions. Not only has Potandon been a market leader in providing high-quality fresh potatoes and onions, but the company consistently brings new and innovative products to the market. sdf

Innovation is a theme in every step of the process at Potandon Produce, and it will once again be on full display at this year’s International Fresh Produce Association Global Produce & Floral show, according to Sean Davenport, marketing manager.

“Customers and consumers alike have come to trust the Green Giant brand over its 100-plus years, and Potandon Produce aims to always live up to those high standards for our customers and consumers,” said Davenport.

A strong, year-round program is part of the standard for the Idaho Falls, ID-based company. From the strong Russet and onion program to versatile varieties, flavorful mini potatoes and innovative value-added line, Potandon Produce is uniquely qualified to provide customers with a full program of fresh potatoes and onions every week.

Leading the way in innovative products at this year’s IFPA Global Produce & Floral show are the One Step…Done!, Minute Mashers, and Minute Mashers with Gravy microwave potato line.

“In today’s fast-paced world, time is at a premium for family and friends,” said Davenport. “These shelf-stable products not only give consumers a healthy, convenient side dish but also more time to spend with their family and friends instead of cooking a full meal. The perfect side dish is great for any time of the year to complement your meal.”

Davenport said that with multiple flavors, customers can prepare a different potato dish every night of the week.

“The One Step…Done! come in Garlic Rosemary, Roasted Red Pepper, and Cajun flavors,” he said. “The Minute Mashers come in Sea Salt and Pepper, Chive and Dill, and Roasted Garlic. The newest addition to the line, Minute Mashers with Gravy comes in Brown Gravy and Chicken Gravy options. No matter the time of year, Potandon Produce has a fresh, healthy and convenient option for customers to enjoy.”

He said Minute Mashers with Gravy will be available for sampling at the Potandon Produce booth at this year’s show to show how simple, easy, and great tasting it is.

In addition to the value-added line, Davenport said Potandon Produce’s CarbSmart yellow potato will also be highlighted at the booth. While it may look and taste like another great Green Giant Fresh potato, it has 27 percent less carbs vs. a standard potato, giving those with diet restrictions an option to still enjoy their favorite potato dishes.

“As a healthier side dish, CarbSmart potatoes have 55 percent less carbs than a cup of rice or pasta, while still providing the high vitamin C, potassium and fiber benefits of a potato,” said Davenport. “The potato is non-GMO, has great flavor, and another great example of an innovative product from Potandon.” Davenport said Potandon is excited to welcome visitors to its booth (No. B1656) and try Minute Mashers with Gravy, as well as to learn more about Potandon Produce and Green Giant Fresh potatoes and onions.
