How to use Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse

Pantone recently announced its 2025 Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse, a soothing hue that combines light brown, taupe and coffee tones. This color evokes warmth, calm and coziness—qualities that many are seeking in today's fast-paced world. Rio Roses has come up with five creative ways to incorporate Mocha Mousse into floral designs.

  1. Design with Rio Roses
Mocha Mousse can be seamlessly integrated into floral arrangements with Rio Roses’ Cold Brew, Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate tinted varieties, along with Rio Tierra Roses. These flowers feature soft, earthy tones that complement the Mocha Mousse palette. Cold Brew showcases smooth caramel shades, Cappuccino offers warm, rosy-brown hues and Hot Chocolate introduces a deeper, more intense brown tone.
  2. Add Mocha Mousse with Textures
To enhance the Mocha Mousse aesthetic, textural elements like dried flowers and branches can be incorporated into designs. Dried pampas grass, bleached ruscus, or other brown-hued foliage can add depth and dimension, creating a natural, rustic feel in the arrangement.
  3. Mix Mocha Mousse with Other Soft Colors
Mocha Mousse pairs beautifully with a variety of soft, complementary colors. Combining it with creams, soft pinks, or muted greens can create a relaxed, calming ambiance. This combination works particularly well for weddings and centerpieces, providing a cozy, welcoming vibe. For example, mixing taupe-colored roses with dusty miller or eucalyptus leaves offers an elegant and peaceful effect.
  4. Create a Mocha Mousse-Only Design
For a more refined look, a monochromatic Mocha Mousse design can be stunning. Mixing Mocha Mousse roses, such as Rio tinted varieties, with cream-colored lilies or chocolate cosmos results in a sophisticated, calming arrangement. This approach is ideal for intimate events or cozy home décor, bringing elegance and serenity to any space.
  5. Use Mocha Mousse for Event Styling
Mocha Mousse is also an excellent choice for event décor. It can be used in centerpieces or as part of a flower wall, especially for a fall wedding. The color can also be incorporated into table settings, with Mocha Mousse flowers paired alongside candles in matching tones. These thoughtful details can transform a space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for any occasion.

Mocha Mousse is more than just a color trend—it’s a hue that fosters warmth, peace, and a sense of connection. Whether through tinted flowers, textured elements, or thoughtful color combinations, Mocha Mousse is set to add richness and elegance to floral designs throughout 2025.
