Floriexpo 2025 breaks records with unprecedented attendance and expanded offerings
Floriexpo, the premier B2B event for the floral industry, concluded its 2025 edition in Fort Lauderdale with record-breaking success, welcoming an unprecedented number of attendees to a significantly expanded show floor.
The event, held from June 4-6 at the Broward County Convention Center, brought together a dynamic mix of floral industry professionals from around the globe for three days of bustling business, networking and education.
This year’s Floriexpo saw a significant surge in attendance, with a notable increase in high-volume buyers from major supermarkets, chain stores and online retailers and floral wholesalers. The expanded exhibit hall was a vibrant marketplace featuring a diverse range of products and services, from fresh-cut flowers and potted plants to innovative floral technology and accessories.
“The energy at this year’s Floriexpo was electric,” said Bob Callahan, president of Floriexpo. “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response from both exhibitors and attendees. The record attendance and dynamic show floor are a testament to the strength and vitality of the floral industry. Our goal was to create a truly immersive and valuable experience and the feedback we’ve received has been phenomenal.”
The 2025 event featured an array of enhanced networking opportunities and completely sold-out special events that were met with great enthusiasm. The "Floral Bootcamp" educational series sponsored by Sunshine Bouquet and Farm Fresh Flowers offered attendees a deep dive into the latest industry trends, marketing strategies and business-building techniques. The "Golden Hour" Welcome Party and the "Flori After Dark" Intercoastal cruise presented by Bloomaker and the Plant Co. provided networking opportunities unlike any other in fun and out of the box settings for attendees to connect and build relationships.
Other highlights included the thrilling "Iron Designer" competition, which showcased the incredible talent within the floral industry. This year’s theme was Romance for Less and produced some of the most elegant and interesting designs in recent memory with a time limit of only 20 minutes from start to finish. This year’s Iron Designer Champion was Eduard Amayo of Galleria Farms.
Also, this year Floriexpo once again hosted the much-anticipated annual Flower Naming Ceremony, a beloved tradition that honors a key figure in the floral community. This year’s award was introduced by Lisa Letch of Shaw’s/Star Market who announced a stunning brand-new rose varietal named the “Unstoppable Light” after The Elite Flower’s Juan Carlos Hannaford.
“It is with great honor and deep admiration that I introduce this year’s Floriexpo 2025 Flower Naming Honoree—a man whose name is synonymous with innovation, integrity and lasting impact- a gentleman whose vision, generosity and unwavering pursuit of excellence has touched countless lives around the world both in our industry and far beyond,” said Letch of Hannaford while presenting the award.
Hannaford is president of The Elite Group, the world’s largest flower producer and distributor. Since taking the helm of Elite Flower in 1997, he is credited with catapulting the company into a global powerhouse, spanning over 2,500 hectares across Colombia, Ecuador and Kenya and beyond.
Exhibitors and attendees alike praised the 2025 Floriexpo for its exceptional quality and organization both at the show and across social media leading to significant growth in the event’s online presence. The event provided an unparalleled platform for launching new products, forging new partnerships and gaining valuable insights into the future of the floral industry.
As Floriexpo 2025 comes to a close, the organizers are already looking ahead to next year’s event, which promises to build on this year’s incredible success and continue to serve as the must-attend event for the floral industry.
