BrightFarms hits 2,000-store milestone

brightfarmBrightFarms, a leading supplier of locally grown salads, announced that its distribution recently surpassed 2,000 stores, bringing their total store count to 2,009. BrightFarms has added more than 800 stores this year amid a record surge in demand that has increased year over year sales growth by 40 percent in the last month.

The company’s growth has been driven by continued success with national retail partners like Ahold Delhaize USA and Kroger/Roundy’s and Walmart, along with recent product launches in Sam’s Club and Meijer. Earlier this year, BrightFarms opened its largest greenhouse to date in Selinsgrove, PA, to support strong demand from Ahold-Delhaize in the Northeast.

BrightFarms is a local, controlled environment leafy greens producer to distribute to more than 2,000 stores. Its expansion comes amidst the release of the 2020 Power of Produce report that found more than half of consumers want to see a greater assortment of locally grown produce at their supermarket.

“We're extremely proud of our growth with new and existing retail partners this year. Our programs continue to drive category growth as consumers seek out the freshest leafy greens in the produce department,” said Abby Prior, senior vice president of sales and marketing at BrightFarms. “We look forward to continuing to introduce the BrightFarms brand to more consumers across the nation in the coming months.”

BrightFarms said its growth trajectory is expected to continue with expansion into hundreds of new stores in the third quarter.
