AFP features groundbreaking marketing coup at IFPA booth
Known for its innovative one-of-a-kind marketing programs, Avocados from Peru lived up to its reputation at the recent IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show in Atlanta by hosting a major sports team mascot at its booth.
Blooper, the official mascot of the Atlanta Braves, made a special appearance at AFP’s booth on Friday, Oct. 18. This marked the first time a mascot from a leading U.S. sports team was featured at the International Fresh Produce Association show, further elevating the energy and excitement of this key industry event.
Visitors to the booth had the chance to meet Blooper, take photos and enjoy delicious Peruvian tapas and wine while learning more about the health benefits and versatility of avocados from Peru.
The Peruvian Avocado Commission, which leads the promotion of Peruvian avocados in the U.S., played a pivotal role in organizing the event. Its efforts to highlight the quality and sustainability of avocados from Peru were on full display, as the PAC works closely with producers, exporters, importers, and retailers to bring the best avocados to U.S. consumers.
“The collaboration between Avocados from Peru and the Atlanta Braves showcases our commitment to engaging consumers in new and exciting ways,” said Xavier Equihua, president of PAC. “We are thrilled to share the unique taste of Peruvian avocados and the rich cultural ties between Peru and the U.S. sports community.”
Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about the avocado industry’s sustainable farming practices in Peru, including how AFP continues to lead in environmental responsibility while delivering the freshest, highest-quality avocados to the U.S. market.
