CMI visualizes flavor profiles to boost sales
CMI Orchards is bringing apple-eating into the 21st century with Flavogram, a visual guide to apple flavor profiles. “We’ve taken what has historically been a one dimensional approach and increased the breadth and depth with which we describe and compare apple varieties,” said Rochelle Bohm, vice president of marketing for CMI Orchards.
CMI adopted a technique used by the wine industry to describe wines from start to finish and developed a tool that better describes the flavor dimensions of each unique apple. Flavogram’s eye-catching design educates customers, capitalizing on their hunger to explore with vibrant colors that provide quick, easy, visual cues for easy flavor comparisons. “It’s the perfect tool for trading customers up to higher valued apples, driving trials, and delivering better customer service to help in the decision-making process,” said Bohm.
CMI encourages retailers to use Flavogram to help customers easily compare apples to apples and boost incremental sales in the category.
