AmazonFresh spoiled for some customers
Various news sources have reported that Amazon.com will end its AmazonFresh grocery delivery service in suburban Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Service is expected to halt after Nov. 30. Reuters suggested service could be ending in parts of Maryland, New York and California as well. The service will continue in other cities, including Los Angeles.
According to Reuters, “AmazonFresh started more than a decade ago but has yet to make a major dent in the $700 billion U.S. grocery market.” The Reuters report added that “Whole Foods Market, which Amazon acquired in August for $13.7 billion, is expected to play a key role in Amazon’s grocery delivery going forward.”
