CALGARY — Most trade shows feature a golf tournament charity fundraiser. But the Canadian Produce Marketing Association expo starts with a puck drop in the annual CPMA Half Your Plate Hockey Classic, pitting a team of the host city's CPMA members against a squad made up of CPMA members from across Canada — not to mention a couple of ringers.

This year's teams shared 1989 Stanley Cup winners Colin Patterson and Dana Murzyn of the Calgary Flames skating one aside at the Father David Bauer Arena at the University of Calgary.

Beverages were consumed, donuts were eaten — and a heck of a hockey game ensued. By the time the last Zamboni rolled, the CPMA squad had manged to squeak past Calgary 6-5 in overtime.

Our Maggie Giuffrida was on hand to catch all the action.
