Retail tour kicks off 2018 CPMA convention

13VANCOUVER -- Select attendees of the 2018 Canadian Produce Marketing Association convention got a feel for the retail scene in this picturesque harbor city via a tour to three of the most popular retail destinations for fresh produce.

On the morning of April 24, tour attendees boarded two trollies and headed to Loblaw's City Market, a midsized location that offered the most tradition retail experience of the three stops.

The tour then headed to the Granville Island Market, where vendors of all types operate in a common market area. Here, mainstream and exotic produce is available, along with a multitude of seafood, meat, cheese and flower stalls.

After departing Granville Island, the tour made its final stop at a T&T Market in Chinatown, where Asian specialty produce takes center stage, complemented by some mainstream offerings.

Loblaw's City Market, the first stop on the retail tour, offered attendees the most traditional retail experience of the three stops.
