A produce star retiring as a new one emerges at IMG Citrus

IMG Citrus, a family-owned, vertically integrated citrus grower, packer, importer and shipper in Vero Beach, FL, has announced the upcoming retirement of IMG Citrus’ Vice President Veronique Sallin after 40 years with the company. Sallin’s retirement will officially begin at the end of the 2019-20 Florida season. The company also announced the promotion of Sydney Allison to the role of director of sales.salinSydney Allison

During her tenure with IMG Citrus, Sallin built and maintained strong relationships with customers worldwide. She helped establish the IMG Citrus brand and reputation. Sallin will remain involved through this Florida season as a direct consultant to Allison and the team in order to facilitate a smooth transition.

Allison has been with the company since 2016. Her career within the company advanced rapidly, beginning with her role as the export-import program coordinator. She then progressed to sales manager, where she reported directly to Sallin.

“Over the years, we have learned that our most successful hires were based on strong value alignment between the candidate and our Company,” said Sallin. “Sydney’s entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, passion for her work, and interest for the customer embodies our company’s core values, making this a strong match.”

As the director of sales, Allison will construct and implement the sales strategy, reporting directly to IMG Citrus President Michel Sallin, as an executive role.

Allison’s quick adjustment and rapid contribution to IMG Citrus begins at her roots, where her passion for produce began on a tractor at her family’s citrus and blueberry farm.

“When you are raised in that culture and business, you learn so much,” said Sallin.

Beyond her family’s history in farming, Allison studied agricultural business at the University of Florida, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in food and resource economics and a minor in horticulture science.

“It is a joy to work in this intricate produce industry, which brings constant learning, innovation, and opportunity to build strong, lasting partnerships with so many talented and passionate people who share in IMG Citrus' values and vision,” said Allison. “In this ever-changing business, I challenge myself and our team every day to bring consistent service and quality through transparency and teamwork.”

Though a young member of an established team, Allison earned the respect of her IMG Citrus family swiftly with her charisma, passion, and genuine interest in building relationships.

“She’s a great addition to the citrus industry,” said Scott Deyoe, national accounts manager. “She’s always willing to go the extra mile to help a customer or coworker. Her goal is to get the best outcome for our customers.”

“She comes in the morning with a smile and leaves with a smile, making for a great person to work alongside,” said Sallin. “Stars are not only in movies, but they also exist in real life too. We are fortunate to have her in our company.”
