Sun-Glo of Idaho adds veteran to sales team

Potato industry veteran Tron Crumley has joined the sales team at Sun-Glo of Idaho, effective April 15.

“My career has been single-mindedly focused on the potato industry,” said Crumley. “I am also the grandson of Idaho potato farmers, so selling potatoes is in my blood.”Tron-Crumley

Crumley’s dedication to his own family led him to Sun-Glo, where the tight-knit Crapo family’s reputation as a quality grower, packer and shipper is admired throughout the industry.

“Sun-Glo’s level of customer service makes a positive difference to the bottom line,” Crumley added. “I?m looking forward to being an integral part of this service-forward, family-oriented business, working closely with the Sun-Glo team to unlock further sales opportunities.”

Crumley brings to Sun-Glo nearly 25 years of potato industry experience, having lead sales of both fresh and dehydrated potatoes for Idaho-based produce companies like Nonpareil, RPE and, most recently, Pro-Health.

In his new role, Crumley, a self-described competitive person who enjoys the challenges of the ever-changing potato industry, will build upon Sun-Glo?s retail, wholesale and foodservice sales programs.

“I love that each season brings something new; different volume, sizes and quality,” he said. “Couple that with the changing landscape of the industry, and the possibilities are endless.”

“Tron’s deep industry knowledge and connections will help us fulfill our ongoing mission to serve our customers by delivering extraordinary customer service and quality potatoes,” said Jill Cox, vice president of sales for Sun-Glo, which is based in Sugar City, ID. “As a fourth generation farmer, we understand the importance of fresh potatoes to the retail and foodservice industries and strive to innovate our fresh product portfolio. Tron?s leadership and experience will help us deliver even more value to our customers. The Crapo family enthusiastically welcomes him to the Sun-Glo team.”

Sun-Glo of Idaho is a partner of Fresh Solutions Network LLC.

“We are delighted to increase the sales and customer service capabilities of the Network with Tron’s new position at Sun-Glo,” said Kathleen Triou, president and chief executive officer of Fresh Solutions Network. “We are constantly evolving, elevating customer service standards and pushing innovation boundaries. Tron is a great fit.”
