Eco Farms adds avocado sales veteran

Eco Farms announces the addition of John Patrick, a multi-year produce veteran and avocado expert, to the Eco Farms sales force. Patrick will be based out of his home in Charlotte, NC, where he will call on retail, foodservice and wholesale accounts generally east of the Mississippi River.  While Patrick will concentrate on selling Eco Farms’ expanding the Mexican avocado program, he will also look for organic California citrus customers, as well as new customers for the growing import programs from Peru and Chile. Patrick will also expand Eco Farms’ eastern ripening programs.

“Eco Farms is perfectly positioned for the future of our industry including our own groves, our Total Produce partnership and passionate team," Patrick commented. "Combining avocados with the organic citrus offerings, there is a huge opportunity for our customers. I wanted to be a part of building something sustainable. I look forward to serving the needs of our customers, associates and stakeholders.”

Andy Hamilton, the chief executive officer of Eco Farms elaborated: “When we add staff, we’re looking for quality people, who embody the values Eco Farms has espoused since the company was founded by Steve Taft and Norman Traner in the early 1970’s. John is a hard-working professional, who is dedicated to his craft and he wants to grow our business aggressively, but in the right way.”

Patrick and the rest of the Eco Farms sales team will have another message to spread now. Eco Farms recently received the American Heart Association’s coveted Heart Check certification. Through this certification, John and the other Eco Farms staff will be highlighting how avocados are part of a Heart Healthy nutrition program. The Heart Check will appear on Eco Farms’ organic and conventional packaging.

Eco Farms is a grower, shipper, packer and exporter of citrus and avocados based in Temecula, CA. Eco Farms pioneered organics in both citrus and avocados in the early 1970s. Since August 2014, Eco Farms has also been a part of the Total Produce network of companies.
