A lesson from Willow...

On June 24, I was blessed with a new granddaughter and her name is Willow. This beautiful little soul has become the focal point of the family as she draws us all closer together and I believe she’s made us a more unified and intentional family. Plus, her name implies grace, flexibility and resilience — characteristics we could all use more of in our lives.

COVER-SHOT-8-6-18 In this edition, we feature articles on some “flexible” industry commodities — garden roses, sweet peas and greenery garlands; we introduce Smithers-Oasis’ first biodegradable floral foam; we report on a record-setting donation by the Matsui family to the Natividad Foundation; we provide sightings and a recap of IFE; and we cover other pertinent industry news.

It’s hard to believe that summer is quickly coming to an end and the winds of seasonal change are already in the air. But I’ve decided to be more like the willow — a flexible tree that nothing can break; it bends and can withstand anything. Hopefully, the same can be said for the entire floral industry.
