New leaders installed at AIFD National Symposium

Frank Feysa of Garden Gate in Aurora, OH, was installed as the president of the American Institute of Floral Designers during the organization’s 2018 National Symposium held in Washington, DC, June 30-July 4. He succeeds Kim Oldis of Details… it’s all about the flowers in LaConnor, WA, as the volunteer-leader of the organization, according to a news release.

FRANK-FEYSAFrank FeysaInstalled as AIFD’s president-elect was Jackie Lacey of the Floriology Institute in Jacksonville, FL, and David Shover of Karin’s Florist in Vienna, VA, will serve as vice president. Janet Black of Designs by Janet Black in Bethel, ME, was chosen as secretary and Laura Parker of Fresh Start Floral in Holly, MI, was chosen to serve as treasurer.

Sandy Schroeck of Unlimited Containers in Eden Prairie, MN, will serve as the membership chairperson and Joyce Mason-Monheim of Tucson, AZ, will take on the role as AIFD’s 2019 Symposium Coordinator for Symposium “Awaken” taking place July 6-11 in Las Vegas.

Directors-at-large include: Janet Black of Designs by Janet Black in Bethel, Maine, John Hosek of Surroundings in Verona, WI, BJ Dyer of Bouquets in Denver, Rachelle Nyswonger-Neal of Flowers by Rachelle in Chico, CA, Jacob McCall of the Elite Flower in Orlando, FL, and Katie McCormick of KM Floral Design in Hacienda Heights, CA.

Regional Chapter Representatives include: Wil Gonzalez of W/E Flowers in Ukiah, CA, for the Northwest Chapter; Randy Wooten of Delorice’s Florist in Douglas, GA, for the Southern Chapter; Pete Samek of FTD in Dayton, OH, for the North Central Chapter; Todd Sweeden of Sweeden Florist in Russellville, AR, for the South Central Chapter; Kenneth Snauwaert of Las Vegas for the Southwest Chapter; and Ron Mulray of Philadelphia Flower Co. in Philadelphia for the Northeast Chapter.
