AFIF: America’s Flower Connection unveils new logo

The Association of Floral Importers of Florida is celebrating 35 years of representing flower importers by unveiling a new logo. AFIF: America’s Flower Connection has been the longtime tagline of the association, but now it is becoming the center of what the members are to the flower industry, according to a news release.

“We were started in 1982 — 35 years ago,” Christine Boldt, AFIF’s executive vice president, told The Produce News. “So, in order to have a clean, fresh approach for the next 35 years, we wanted to update and have a fresh logo, a fresh look.”

The members of AFIF support the 90 percent of flower imports that enter the United States by air each year. They support the work that is done to benefit the flower industry with Congress, Customs and Border Protection, the United States Department of Agriculture, Miami International Airport, and transportation and logistics, to help facilitate the flowers into the United States and on to the customers.

“The industry has changed a lot over the years, but the mission of AFIF has not changed,” Boldt said. “The free flow of flowers continues today and helping to promote and provide opportunities for the flower importers continues to be our mission, no matter what year it is.”

Along with the new logo, AFIF also has a new Miami address. The association moved to its new location — which is still central to all of the members — at 2500 NW 97th Ave., Suite 201.
