Chrysal introduces Customized Sachets and new, improved Professional range

Netherlands-based Chrysal International has been providing the worldwide floral and plant industries with flower care products for more than 85 years. Now they are launching some new items that will help your business distinguish itself and will keep your flowers beautiful even longer.

Chrysal Customized Sachets allow you to have your own branded flower food sachets, which is akin to having your business card on every bouquet of flowers you sell. You could also create your own design for special events such as Mother’s Day, birthdays, Christmas/Hanukkah, Valentine’s Day or Women’s Day.

CHRYSAL-1Chrysal Customized Sachets allow you to have your own branded flower food sachets. You could also create your own design for special events such as Mother’s Day, birthdays, Christmas/Hanukkah, Valentine’s Day or Women’s Day.“This is exciting for us,” Jim Kaplan, Chrysal USA’s president, told The Produce News. “We feel this is a great opportunity for smaller supermarket chains to have their own brand on the preservative packets that accompany the flowers their customers purchase. Now you can have your company logo or custom design printed in four colors with an order as small as 2,000, 10-gram sachets —minimum quantities at unique, affordable pricing. This is a way to strengthen your brand as you provide your customers with the floral preservative they need.”

The sachets contain Chrysal Clear Universal flower food, which extends the vase life of flowers up to 60 percent compared to the use of water alone, stimulates bud and flower development, keeps leaves and stems firm and green, reduces the pH and stimulates water uptake and food consumption, and allows a vase life guarantee of over seven days, according the to company website. It mixes easily in water, is odorless and provides all the necessary ingredients for full development of buds and blooms.

In addition, Chrysal’s new improved Professional range products have been reformulated to keep flowers beautiful even longer. The Professional 2 contains enough nutrients for the natural development of flowers while preventing them from opening too soon, thus reducing waste by an average of 50 percent and providing a longer distribution and sales period. The solution can also be re-used up to five days so there’s no need to change the water and clean the buckets as frequently, saving both time and money.

Professional 3 has also undergone a makeover and is a professional flower food with nutrients suitable for keeping all cut flowers in peak condition. It is useful in arrangements and for soaking floral foam.

The newest product, Chrysal FlowPro, is a complete line of conditioners and vase and foam products that eliminate the need for re-cutting before placing flowers in water. This allows you to place flowers in your store or use them in your bouquets immediately after they arrive.

“About 10 years ago, we started working on a product that would treat flowers without needing to cut the stems,” Kaplan told The Produce News. “We were able to create a formula back then that worked on most stems, but it wouldn’t work on 100 percent of stems without cutting them. About three years ago, we renewed our efforts to create a product that would work without cutting the stems and with the benefit of new water mobilizers that weren’t available back then. We have improved our Professional range products to offer a no-cut option. Many flowers shipped to supermarkets today are shipped in water already containing preservative, so there is not cutting required. But for flowers that are shipped dry pack, they do need to be treated when they arrive. Our FlowPro solutions now offer a viable alternative to properly hydrating flowers without the expense of extra labor. Although we believe that it is always good to cut the stems, the components in this new product do an adequate job of hydrating most flowers without cutting.”
