MFA announces 2017 officers, holds elections

The Michigan Floral Association announced the results of its recent election of officers and board of directors in a news release.

Serving as president is Jerome Raska, owner at Blumz … by JR Designs in Ferndale/Detroit; Janice Curran, Michigan Teleflora representative, was elected to serve as vice president; Jeanette Ballien, co-owner at Gaudreau the Florist in Saginaw, MI, was appointed to serve as treasurer; and Bob Patterson, vice president at Patterson’s Flowers in Big Rapids, MI, will continue to serve as immediate past president. All will serve a one-year term.

The results of the recent board of directors elections are as follows. Tim Galea, president at Norton’s Flower & Gifts in Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor, MI, is director-at-large. Regional directors are Terry Oswalt, salesman at Mayesh Wholesale in Romulus, MI, region one; Jeanette Ballien, region five; and Tim Timinski, business development manager at FloraCraft Corp. in Lundington, MI, region six. All will serve three-year terms ending in December 2019.

The Michigan Floral Association is located in Haslett, MI, and is a full-service trade organization representing more than 400 florists, growers and wholesalers.
