After successful shows in New York, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles, HPP Exhibitions recently decided to move the next edition of the World Floral Expo to Las Vegas. The three-day show will meet March 22-24 near downtown Las Vegas at the World Market Center in Pavilion 2, according to a news release.
“The USA is big and this requires the industry to move around the country,” said HPP’s president Dick van Raamsdonk in the release. “Only then can we assure the presence of a good attendance of flower buyers.”
The venue for the international flower trade show will be a huge air-conditioned greenhouse-look-alike tent, covering 135,000 square feet, and surrounded by 4,000 available parking spaces. The first WFE in 1999, which was held in the Jacob J. Javits Center in New York, was also held in a similar tent and was named “the greenhouse.” Organizers are hopeful that the unique location and ambiance of the venue will attract many fresh flower buyers to WFE 17.
In addition to the trade show, there will be live flower design demonstrations on stage, floral design workshops for florists, retailers and event planners, as well as seminars.
Last year’s WFE drew over 125 exhibitors and around 800 visitors to Los Angeles.
