Christopher Ranch to feature full garlic and specialty items at New York Produce Show

Gilroy, CA-based Christopher Ranch LLC, has been a strong advocate of the New York Produce Show since its inception. Anthony M. DeAngelis, director of the northeast division, said at this year’s tradeshow, being held on Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Javits Center Hall 1C in New York City, the company will proudly exhibit at Booth No. 236.

We find great value in attending this show each year,” DeAngelis said.

Christopher Ranch boasts a long, six decades-plus Christopher family tradition of working with garlic. Today, third and fourth Christopher family members oversee the company’s operations. It is known as one of the largest grower, packer and shipper of California garlic for the fresh market. In addition to fresh garlic, the company has an extensive line of specialty items in bulk and packaged fresh and jarred products. Its more than 5,000 acres of row crops produce garlic, bell peppers and shallots.

“Organics continue to be a hot topic many of our customers want to discuss, and we are expanding our organic’s program annually and are thrilled to offer California Organic Garlic all year-round,” said DeAngelis. “Our organic line will also be featured at the New York Produce Show.”

Christopher Ranch recently announced a new hire. Tim Ahlin has joined the firm as its multi-media manager.

“Tim has an extensive background in media development,” said Patsy Ross, marketing manager for the company. “With our state-of-the-art equipment, Christopher Ranch will be one of the first agricultural companies in the nation to have in-house development capabilities.”

She added that more and more, consumers want to know everything about the produce they’re enjoying. Now, Christopher Ranch will be able to generate stories and content on the fly, produce more in-depth pieces and produce video news releases, or VNRs, for regional and national journalists.

DeAngelis pointed out that Christopher Ranch will continue to feature all of its garlic and complementary specialty products at the New York Produce Show.

“We will also be discussing our ability to provide year-round programs of California garlic to existing and potential customers,” he noted. “Our presence as a national company brings value both to large and small local customers alike in that we have several distribution facilities, including in New Jersey.

“We offer hands-on customer service and daily delivery, and the ability to respond to our customers’ service needs very efficiently,” he continued. “The Northeast and greater New York market have tremendous value to our company, and we have been established locally in New Jersey for over 26 years.”
