Consalo Family Farms look forward to the fall season

vineland, nj — “We saw more then our share of rain combined with high temperatures during April, May and June. Overall we made it through our season with only minor disruptions,” Joe Rosa, director of sales for Consalo Family Farms told The Produce News on Tuesday August 13th.

HochbergConsalo Family Farms is a year round grower/shipper based in Vineland, NJ with 12 month supplies of blueberries, citrus, cooking greens, herbs, salad items, hard squash and sweet potatoes. In addition to New Jersey farms the Consalo family has growing operations in Mexico, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia as well as imported product from South America. “We are a ‘one stop shop’ for supermarket chains in the Eastern U.S. and Canada, with overnight delivery to all areas,” Rosa said.

Looking ahead to the start of the New Jersey fall vegetable deal, Rosa said, “So far so good. We have favorable growing conditions and our farming operations don’t foresee any immediate problems. Fall is usually a great growing season for us because of the cooler temperatures. We are already offering advanced add and program prices to our customers from September through November.”
