Pacific AgPak committed to working with grape industry

Pacific AgPak, based in Watsonville, CA, handles the packaging needs for agricultural growers, manufacturers, and producers in California, the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and Mexico, and packaging and custom-labeling needs for distributors, large-scale farmers and retailers.

When it comes to grapes, the company offers both a 2- and 4-pound grape clamshell, a clear packaging solution that Pacific AgPak touts as perfect for “showing off plump and juicy grapes.”

These containers not only let customers view the quality of grapes, but being eco-friendly, and 100 percent recyclable, these are containers people can feel good about utilizing.

“Some growers are looking for better locking mechanisms and clear clamshells with packaging side of things, some are looking for compostable items as well,” said David Baum, president of the 27-year-old company. “As more options come viable for the grape industry, pricing should hopefully follow.”

Pacific AgPak has been working on cube utilization formats to help offset soaring freight rates to allow higher pack outs per pallets.

“It is not exactly clear in the direction the grape industry will be taking on its packaging needs but Pacific AgPak is ready to listen and assist in any way possible,” Baum said.
