Giorgio Fresh prides itself on innovation

Behind Booth No. 234 at this year’s New York Produce Show, Giorgio Fresh Co. will be showcasing its innovation, something for which the company is proud to be known.

GIOOvenableFiestaStuffedBabyBella85oz “We are excited to once again have a booth and we will be highlighting our new ovenable microwaveable stuffed mushrooms, which come in three great flavors—Artichoke, Spinach & Cheese, Fiesta Cheese and Cheese & Imitation Bacon Bits,” said Greg Sagan, EVP sales & marketing for the Blandon, PA-based company. “We will also showcase our Savory Wild Portabella Jerky and BLENDABELLA, a portabella mushroom blend.”

Like many who attend, Giorgio Fresh sees the show as a great opportunity to speak to customers in the Northeast, which is where the company does a great deal of its business.

“We are thrilled to come back in 2018 and showcase everything that has come out in the last year,” Sagan said. “This year we are celebrating our 90th anniversary, a celebration that started at this year’s PMA with our new booth and new packaging. We are proud to provide insights in the category to our customers and look forward to continuing to serve them for years to come.”

Speaking of PMA, Giorgio Fresh unveiled its new mushroom packaging at this year’s event and are extremely happy with the outcome and response shown at the show.

“We wanted to refresh packaging to benefit consumers,” Sagan said. “Today’s consumer is looking for simplicity, so the names of the mushroom is more prominent on each label, making it clear and easy to see what it is. We also wanted to make it easier for the consumer to shop and we accomplished that through color coding by segment.”

Finally, because Giorgio Fresh sees mushrooms as a recipe-centric item, the company wanted to give consumers great access to recipes and drive them to its new website, which Sagan noted the company will continue to build upon each month with new recipes.
