Limes and table grapes are part of an expanding product line for Triple H Produce LLC.
In an April 3 telephone interview, Octavio Garcia, the firm’s new retail and food service sales manager, said that this is the first month for the firm to ship limes.
“Our grape partners from Sonora are producing around 3 million packages of grapes annually.” This spring Triple H will be handling a portion of that total volume. “Our partners grow in the regions of Hermosillo, Guaymas, Pesqueira and Caborca. We are extremely excited to showcase this new venture and introduce our fine grapes to all of our retail and food service partners in Canada and the Unites States. Our varieties include Flame, Sugraone, Perlette and Red Globe, among others.”
Garcia said Triple H distributes Jalapeños, Roma and grape tomatoes year round across the United States and Canada. Among other commodities, Triple H also offers round tomatoes, squash, Poblanos, Habañeros, Caribe, Anaheim and Serrano peppers in-season.
Triple H Produce markets and distributes the fresh produce of grower-partners in 15 Mexican states, Garcia said. These partners range from Baja California to the southern Mexico, including Oaxaca.
Garcia joined Triple H in February. But this will be his, and Triple H’s, third year of exhibiting at the three-year old Viva Fresh convention.
“The Viva Fresh board does an excellent job,” Garcia said of the show. Triple H participates to market itself and to learn from others at the show, he said.
In business for 30 years, Triple H is based in Culiacan, Sinaloa and has major distribution centers in San Diego and McAllen. It also has a presence in Nogales, AZ.
“We have been honored to have been awarded such honors as the National Agri Food Award in 2008, National Export Award in 2014 and most recently the Social Responsibility Company Award in 2016 by Enrique Peña, Mexico’s president.
“I feel privileged to have the opportunity to diligently work with all the Triple H team and partners. We will continue to strive in making a positive impact and supporting the needs of all of our retail and foodservice partners.”
Garcia described his job as to “lead, design and implement a new market-linked produce sourcing strategy to enhance direct North American retail and foodservice accounts.”
