NatureFresh Farms introducing new USDA organic tomatoes-on-the-vine and other organic items at the CPMA Convention & Tradeshow

In addition to its full line of Ontario greenhouse grown tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumbers, Leamington, Ontario-based NatureFresh Farms is excited to introduce its new USDA organic tomatoes-on-the-vine at the Canadian Produce Marketing Convention & Tradeshow, May 9-11, in Toronto.

“We will also be promoting our complete line of Ontario greenhouse grown multi-colored organic bell peppers, of which we doubled our acreage in 2016,” said Chris Veillon, director of marketing. “Additionally, we will feature our organic red grape tomatoes at the event.”

The company will be exhibiting at Booth No. 107, located near the Learning Lounge on the tradeshow floor.

“We will also be promoting our TOMZ Snacking Tomato Program, which has taken off like a wildfire since its launch in summer 2016,” Veillon explained. “The first crop of TOMZ, grown as a winter crop in Delta, OH, has been widely accepted across the Midwest and into the East Coast, as well as into Canada.

“We are now into the Canadian growing season, and retailers and consumers alike can enjoy the same tomatoes now being grown in Leamington,” he continued. “Our ability to now source from both Leamington and Delta greenhouse operations, NatureFresh Farms can provide TOMZ Snacking Tomatoes year-round.”

Veillon said that having the show in Toronto results in a strong draw for all major retail chains, and attendance is heavy. As the largest city in Canada, Toronto offers a lot for people to enjoy.

“Exhibiting at the CPMA Convention & Trade Show also gives us an opportunity to reconnect with our key retail partners and develop new relationships,” he noted. “Many retail company’s head offices are located in Toronto, which results in an even greater opportunity for a larger attendance. And, it being literally in our backyard helps us promote our Ontario grown message to key retailers while at the same time introducing new items.”

NatureFresh Farms has broken ground on an expansion in Leamington with an addition of a 106,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center. Completion is set for early summer.

The NatureFresh™ mobile Greenhouse Education Center will be in the Toronto area during the CPMA Convention & Trade Show as part of the #GreenInTheCity Tour.

“NatureFresh is touring 20 Loblaw locations in Ontario from mid-April to mid-May to support locally grown initiatives,” said Veillon. “From May onwards, the tour takes the Greenhouse Education Center to locations throughout eastern North America talking to consumers about how greenhouse vegetables are grown.”
